Bastar Palace is one of the prime tourist attractions in Jagdalpur. Built by the rulers of the Bastar state, the palace was renowned as the headquarters of the Bastar kingdom. The palace is historically famous and thousands of tourists & pilgrims visit Jagdalpur to have a look of this momentous architectural splendour & darshan at private temple of the royal kul-devi Maai Danteshwari situated just inside the Singhdwaar of the palace.

The Bastar Palace is said to have been built during the ancient times when the rulers of Bastar shifted their capital from Barsur to Jagdalpur. The main attraction here is the exquisite carvings and engravings that one can find on the walls and ceiling of the palace. The palace is the current home of the erstwhile royal family, wherein tourists can enjoy seeing various artifacts and the portraits of the bygone kings. The beautiful gardens that encircle the palace are a sight to behold.

HH Maharaja Saheb KAMAL CHANDRA BHANJDEO, 22nd Maharaja of Bastar (since 1996), born about 1984, educated at Rajkumar College, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Coventry University, U.K. (Master of Science in International Business) and at L.S.E., U.K. (Master of Political Science).

Member at BJP state executive committee. A youth & mass leader of BJP in the state of Chhattisgarh. Has been Chairman of State Youth Commission, Chhattisgarh State (2016-2018).

Member at Managing committee, general council and a life member at Rajkumar College, Raipur (Chhattisgarh). He is the founder of Pravir Sena (Social Organization) at Bastar. He serves as the president of Sarv Samaj at Bastar.
